About Me
First and foremost, my family is the most important part of my life. Their constant encouragement, love, support, and even a swift kick in the pants when needed, helped give me the courage to create Phoenix Life Design, LLC. I am forever grateful for their love and support in all that I do
I recognize how fortunate I am to be surrounded by supportive friends and family. Sadly, I also understand not everyone is quite so lucky. In working with other motivated individuals in pursuit of their goals and dreams, it is my heartfelt wish to provide the same level of support and encouragement I've been shown. One thing I have learned is - no one does it alone!
My Life Views - Work hard, play hard and laugh often (even if at myself)! Live life to the fullest! That means taking care of oneself on all levels - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sure, it takes effort - sometimes it's much easier said than done - but it can be done. If you're not willing to put forth a little effort, then you're also not able to live your best life; cheating yourself out of having all that is possible. Life is too short, and I believe in making the most of it! Take time for life's simple pleasures too. We sometimes get so busy doing we end up forgetting to just be. Be in the moment - notice what brings a sense of peace, joy, or lightheartedness; maybe it's a sunset, a sunrise, a child's laugh, a gentle breeze rustling leaves of a tree, or brilliant stars against a night sky. Whatever it is, simply notice. Life, with all its unexpected twists and turns, can be difficult, no need to make it any tougher by not taking some time out to just be, and enjoy!
Professional Background -
In addition to Phoenix Life Design, LLC, Personal and Business Coaching, I am a trainer/facilitator mainly working in the healthcare industry focusing on presentation and communication skills. These workshops and break-out sessions are primarily attended by leading researchers, Ph.D.s, surgeons, and M.D.s. I received my Coach training through the Adler School of Professional Coaching, a North American Society of Adlerian Psychology Affiliate, and an ICF (International Coach Federation) accredited coaching certificate program, in Phoenix, Arizona.
In 1988 I joined the airline industry for what I thought would be a temporary position. However, to this day I am still enjoying the camaraderie, sense of teamwork, and freedom of travel, that is rarely found in any other industry. A bit unusual, perhaps, but also a remarkable education; the kind you can't get in a textbook or lecture hall. I have witnessed firsthand the tumultuous business of mergers, takeovers, bankruptcy, terrorism, and low employee morale. In large part due to the ever-changing circumstances of air travel, I've developed a much greater awareness of human behavior - the good, the bad, and the ugly. After years of interacting with thousands of people from all walks of life, a lesson I am continuously reminded of is, even though we may come from different cultures or backgrounds, look different physically, or speak different languages, we are all still people - with many of the same fears, concerns, hopes and dreams. I've learned the human spirit is as powerful as it is unpredictable! It's an amazing gift which should be nurtured, cared for and given room to grow - the very essence of coaching.
